A discontinuous Galerkin method for Stokes equation by divergence-free patch reconstruction

A discontinuous Galerkin method by patch reconstruction is proposed for Stokes flows. A locally divergence-free reconstruction space is employed as the approximation space, and the interior penalty method is adopted which imposes the normal component penalty terms to cancel out the pressure term. Consequently, the Stokes equation can be solved as an elliptic system instead of a saddle-point problem due to such weak form. The number of degree of freedoms of our method is the same as the number of elements in the mesh for different order of accuracy. The error estimations of the proposed method are given in a classical style, which are then verified by some numerical examples.     

Implementation of a separate fluid-neutral energy equation in SOLPS-ITER and its impact on the validity range of advanced fluid-neutral models

In plasma edge transport codes for nuclear fusion devices, fluid-neutral models offer an interesting alternative to the currently used kinetic Monte Carlo simulations, especially for cases of high ion-neutral collisionality. In this paper, we elaborate a separate neutral energy equation in the state-of-the-art SOLPS-ITER code suite, which previously assumed perfect ion-neutral temperature equilibration. Furthermore, we study the coupled plasma-neutral solutions for a range of divertor operating regimes, proving the validity of these fluid-neutral models for high-recycling and detached regimes.

以耦合非线性薛定谔方程为理论模型,数值研究了两个一阶暗怪波在正常色散单模光纤中的相互作用.基于一阶暗怪波精确解,采用分步傅里叶数值模拟法,从间距、相位差和振幅系数比方面讨论相邻两个一阶暗怪波之间的相互作用.基于二阶暗怪波精确解,讨论了两个一阶暗怪波的非线性相互作用.研究结果表明:同相位情况下,间距参数T1为0、5、20时,相邻两个一阶暗怪波相互作用激发产生“扭结型”暗怪波.相比较于单个暗怪波发生能量的弥散,“扭结型”暗怪波分裂形成多个次暗怪波.反相位情况下,间距参数T1为2、7、12时,相邻两个一阶暗怪波相互作用也可以激发产生“扭结型”暗怪波.并且“扭结型”暗怪波初始激发的空间位置偏离原始单个暗怪波的位置5.振幅系数比越大,该空间位置越接近5.二阶暗怪波可以看作是两个一阶暗怪波的非线性叠加,复合型和三组分型二阶暗怪波与相邻两个一阶暗怪波的相互作用略有相似.     

Analytical solution of stochastic differential equation by multilayer perceptron neural network approximation of Fokker–Planck equation

The Fokker–Planck equation is a useful tool to analyze the transient probability density function of the states of a stochastic differential equation. In this paper, a multilayer perceptron neural network is utilized to approximate the solution of the Fokker–Planck equation. To use unconstrained optimization in neural network training, a special form of the trial solution is considered to satisfy the initial and boundary conditions. The weights of the neural network are calculated by Levenberg–Marquardt training algorithm with Bayesian regularization. Three practical examples demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method.

The effect of two ferromagnetic metal stripes on valley polarization of electrons in a graphene

As the key factor for designing the valleytronic devices is to well understand the valley-dependent transport mechanism in graphene, we investigate, in this work, the effect of two ferromagnetic (FM) metal stripes on the valley polarization in a graphene nanostructure with a strain. The nearly 100% valley polarization is observed at certain energy windows and it can be easily controlled through changing the width and the position of the FM stripe as well as the strength of the magnetic field induced by the FM stripe. Our interesting findings reveal the valley-dependent transport mechanism of electrons and promote the realization of the new types of valleytronic devices modulated by the FM stripe and the strain.     

Stationary optical solitons with Sasa–Satsuma equation having nonlinear chromatic dispersion

This paper retrieves stationary optical solitons to Sasa–Satsuma equation that carries nonlinear chromatic dispersion. The solutions are in terms of Gauss' hypergeometric functions and consequently the convergence criteria are also listed.     

New convolutions and their applicability to integral equations of Wiener-Hopf plus Hankel type

We propose four new convolutions exhibiting convenient factorization properties associated with two finite interval integral transformations of Fourier-type together with their norm inequalities. Moreover, we study the solvability of a class of integral equations of Wiener-Hopf plus Hankel type (on finite intervals) with the help of the factorization identities of such convolutions. Fourier-type series are used to produce the solution formula of such equations, and a Shannon-type sampling formula is also obtained.     

Well-posedness for the massive nonlinear wave equation on asymptotically AdS spacetimes

In this paper, we prove some well-posedness theorems for the nonlinear massive wave equation (with the mass satisfying the Breitenlohner-Freedman bound) on asymptotically anti-de Sitter spaces. The solution is constructed by contraction mapping method and also as a limit of solutions to an initial boundary value problem with boundary at a finite location in spacetime by finally pushing the boundary out to infinity. The solution obtained is unique within the energy class.
